EXPLORING HORARY ASTROLOGY, CONTINUED
©2008 By Diana Stone
What to do first to ask a Horary question.
How do you know when you should ask the question? The astrologer will take down the time of your question, so what is the right time? Remember, there is no Horary question until the astrologer hears (or reads) and understands it. Do not ask the question until something clicks and you can say, “I’m ready to ask this now.” It does not matter whether you have been mulling it over for a year or need to ask immediately about an offer on a house. It still is not a question until the astrologer hears it. Do not tell the astrologer the time when you first thought of your question. On the other hand, don’t worry the thing half to death trying to figure out if you are “really ready.”
Part of the skill is in phrasing the question.
You may need to call the astrologer just to discuss the situation to see if it is appropriate for a Horary question
in the first place. Let the astrologer help you. Maybe you are not ready yet.
Many times I have advised my clients to think about it or let matters unfold a bit further.
Remember that the astrologer has more skill formulating questions than you do. More often than not,
the client’s original query is modified.
Be as clear as you can when you call, but don’t be afraid to take
the time to describe the situation and let the astrologer help you. For that reason, it is far better to discuss
the matter by phone rather than trying to ask questions by e-mail. (An exception is when the client is in another country.)
What if you have several questions in mind?
It is important to realize that you may ask only one question at a time. The astrologer needs to know that any particular chart is referring to just that one issue. Choose the question, among several, that is of most immediate concern. Remember, the Horary chart is created when the astrologer hears it. If you include several other issues at the same time, it can muddy the waters.
Have realistic expectations
Most Horary questions—obviously not all—are Yes or No questions. Keep expectations in perspective.
It is quite amazing to have this tool to use for guidance. Think back over your life and think
how much you would have given if you only could have had a reliable yes or no answer. Maybe you
would not have married the jerk. Maybe you would not have taken a job that turned out to be a disaster.
Maybe you would not have believed your daughter when she said her dad (your husband) molested her.
(Yes, I had that question once, and with the chart to analyze the reasons, the mother confronted
the daughter and she admitted to the lie.) Once I answer yes or no, clients sometimes think
I can then answer anything. So remember, a yes or no answer is a miracle in and of itself.
In the occasional instances where there is extra information—maybe WHY you shouldn’t buy the
house—the astrologer will share it with you.
Sometimes astrologers are the WORST Horary clients!
One of the most absolutely foolish situations is when another astrologer calls for a Horary question
and tries to time the question according to what they know is going on in the sky. I don’t know how many times
I have heard this, “I shouldn’t ask now because the Moon is void-of-course or Mercury is retrograde.” Explain
to me the logic of that! If the idea is to manipulate the solar system to give a positive answer, I can do that
for free. If you want an accurate answer, however, forget all about the planets and ask the question when the
inspiration seizes you.
HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT THE ASTROLOGER IS RIGHT?
A Scientific Explanation of Horary Astrology
Only Left Brain Louie’s will probably be willing to read this far. The Right Brain Rosies have called me and
asked a Horary question already. Either way, the above question gets into the matter of how Horary astrology works
from a more scientific perspective.
Every second has a horoscope attached to it
It is unrealistic to expect a complete explanation of a complex science in a paragraph or two. It is like saying, “Explain nuclear physics.” The first thing to think about is this: every moment in time is connected to the planetary pattern in the sky that goes with that moment. If I wanted to calculate a chart for July 20th one hundred years ago, the computer could do that as easily as for a chart of today. If we wanted to see what the planetary pattern looks like one thousand years in the future, we could do that, too. Every moment has a chart attached to it, if you can picture it that way.
Only what is predicted in any given chart can manifest
Each moment’s chart describes what can manifest in that moment as a reflection of that snapshot
pictured within the greater cycle of time. Only those things that are of the same nature, or compatible with it,
can express in the real world. For example, no client will ever ask a question about war if
Mars, the God of War, is a docile pussycat in a peaceful sign, say, like Libra. On the other hand,
let’s say that one pattern is forming that describes a financial windfall and that the pattern
will be exact at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. That is when the client with a financial question
will call you; not one minute before and not one minute after.
When you arrive at the moment to pose a question, your consciousness is synchronized to the astrological
pattern that reflects exactly that thought. You can’t ask the question at the wrong time! There is no such
thing as just a random question out of context. You may think your call is just meaningless coincidence,
but Right Brain Rosie knows that there is more to things than the Left Brain eye can see. It is all a matter
of synchronicity in a highly ordered universe.
I sure would like a simpler answer!!
If you want to know if you have an astrologer who is right, find one that has practiced for awhile and has a good track record. Let’s face it; no one is right 100% of the time. One of my astrological colleagues once told me in all seriousness that we should be glad that we are not always right. Otherwise the bad guys would hold us hostage and make us reveal state secrets! Maybe it is time for certain people to retire.
When the chart is right it just rings true in the details
It is hard to describe this before the fact, but as the interpretation of the chart unfolds and I
interact with the client, the symbols often have an almost magical way of slipping in an image or
two to let us know we are on the right track. Maybe it is the meaning of a particular fixed star,
or a date of special significance that jumps out, or any number of the other indicators peculiar
to astrology. I will simply say this; it just has a way of ringing true.
